A new app from the travel firm Zoho has found that the New Zealand tourism industry is undergoing a major transformation.
“The New Zealand Tourism Industry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation,” the company said in a press release.
“It is in an unprecedented period of growth, driven by a number of factors, including the influx of tourism to New Zealand and the global economic climate.”
The company also said that tourism to South-east Asia was now one of the top destinations in the world, ahead of Europe and Australia.
It also claimed that South-eastern Asia is home to some of the world’s most famous beaches.
Zoho is one of a number companies that have made the jump to India, which has seen an influx of tourists since the financial crisis of 2008.
The company says that India has the highest number of foreign tourists, with more than 70 million visiting in 2017.
“This has led to a number ‘surprise’ destinations being discovered by Zoho,” the statement added.
The firm said that Zoho had been working on its app since February, and that it was now ready to release the app to the public in New Zealand.
“We are excited to announce that our first public release will be available to NZ travellers on Tuesday, October 14,” it said.
