Mexico’s tourist industry hit a milestone on Tuesday when the country’s tourism ministry said that over 100,000 visitors from 10 countries visited Mexico City last year.
The tourism ministry reported that the number of visitors in May 2016 reached more than 400,000.
This is the largest number of tourists from 10 Latin American countries that visited Mexico city in more than a decade.
It was also the first time that tourists from the 10 countries visiting Mexico City visited the city during May.
Mexico City’s tourist season started in August and runs through March.
This year, the tourism ministry is forecasting that the tourist season will start in November and finish in March 2019.
The city’s tourist office says that the city’s tourism budget is expected to reach over $2 billion this year.
